Product Design- Solar Light and Portable I-pod Speakers

Here is one of the final development pieces of the design I am currently making. It shows the three cones in which the two I-pod speakers and light will be situated and the placement of the I-pod itself, I have used marker rendering and biro to add shade, definition and colour.

These are some of the intial design ideas for my product, the designs range widely and show the speakers before the solar light was introduced.

The final product had issues as I intended it to have the function of a snow globe but using glitter. This was problematic as the handmade inside ornament was distorted by the water in the jar; I overcome this by emptying the water and drying .This design is sweet and visually appealing which suited the target audience and brief.

The second project was based on making a product consisting of recycled materials. I chose to make a decorative ornament suitable for young girls. These are some development ideas showing possible making processes and the idea broke up.

These are some intial design ideas from my first lighting project, on this sheet I experimented with using cut-outs in the design to allow the light to shine through. The idea in the bottom right corner is the design I made, the front section consists of seven pieces which form the half dome shape which surround the back light.
